MINOR TRACK - SPRING/SUMMER 2020
Who: This group is intended for those elementary school aged children interested in sprints and distance running, as well as long jump and triple jump. In the summer program, high jump, throws and hurdles will be added as options for older athletes. These sessions will prepare athletes for their spring road races and track meets.
Club Purpose: The purpose is to encourage life-long health and fitness and the love of the sport of
athletics in a fun, supportive, and developmentally appropriate training environment. All athletes will
be encouraged to focus on the FUNdamentals (endurance, speed, balance, coordination, and agility)
while enjoying the benefits of running in an environment of group spirit and support. The intent is to
help all athletes achieve their athletic goals - whether they are to compete or to simply see improved
fitness and ability.
Athletes will be encouraged to demonstrate their talent, if they wish, at school/board sponsored events
as well as through Club-affiliated meets (during Summer Session only).
Please ensure your child is dressed and prepared for each session including properly fitted footwear and
water bottle. A sports watch would also be useful.
Fees: To be determined for spring/summer 2020.
Registration opens in March 2020.
